“Silly Monsters ABC” by Gerald Hawksley

Our local library was closed, so we had to look at other options. We could wait until Monday, drive to the main library, go drop a crazy amount of money to buy the books, or read on the Kindle.

Since we have been experimenting with different types of book media, I let Lily try a book on the Kindle.

She loved it!

Lily’s Book Report

I liked the book.

What silly monster is your favorite?
The one that turns upside down. Ungle.

What silly monster is your least favorite?
My least favorite monster is the one with the x-ray eyes. Xoodle.

Why do you think the author wrote this book?
Monsters. They begin with different letters of the alphabet.

“There’s An Alligator Under My Bed” by Mercer Mayer

“There’s An Alligator Under My Bed” by Mercer Mayer

I like the book because he put the alligator in the garage.

The book was about getting an alligator out of your house. You never want an alligator under your bed.

“I Have a Cold” by Grace Maccarone

(No picture. Lily had to return the book to the school library.)

We have been working on using complete sentences when answering questions. Lily has also been learning to give a reason about why she liked the book.

Lily’s Book Report

I liked the book because it was a good book because Mrs. Nahrwald said so.

The book was about a little boy having a cold, and he wasn’t feeling happy. At the end, he would go out to play.

“Tangled: Outside My Window” by Melissa Lagonegro

Once you’ve crossed all of the traditional Disney fairytales off the list, the pickens seem mighty slim.

Lily took off telling me all about the book before I even had a chance to get some questions written down.

Lily’s Book Report

I liked the book because it is cool, and I can read it.

My favorite part was when she was a baby, and she was so cute. She was too cute.

Mother Gothler takes baby Rapunzel. She wanted to have her hair. Rapunzel is a princess with long hair that glows.

They live happily ever after.

“Lego City: Fire in the Forest” by Samantha Brooke

“Lego City: Fire in the Forest” by Samantha Brooke

I liked the book.

First, the firemen are inside the firehouse because they are waiting for a call, and they have the bell because they need the bell when there’s a fire.

The firemen tried to put out the fire, but there was too much smoke, and it would not stop.

They worked hard putting out the fire, and they were hungry, and they ate hot dogs.
