The last several years, we’ve been very fortunate to have friends at Imagine Real Estate give us tickets to this wonderful celebration. We ventured out for a TinCaps game followed by the City of Fort Wayne fireworks.
It’s always a fun event that the kids really look forward to. They have some of their favorite foods, a splash pad, and fireworks! There’s a baseball game, too, if you like that sort of thing.
The TinCaps won. It ended up being 4-0. Even though it was a pretty sad showing for the Captains, I still love seeing my team win.
I totally skipped the bun for my burger. The bread would have wasted valuable stomach space. I needed the room for wings that’d be served in the 4th inning and apple crisp that’d be served in the 7th. Needless to say, no one went home hungry last night. There was plenty of food, soda, and a cash bar.
I also had my first alcoholic beverage at a game. I’m normally a soda girl, but figured that since I’d be there 5+ hours, it was safe to partake in a delicious drink from Center Field Bar. The bartender was kinda cute, too.
I don’t know exactly what he called this, but it has coconut rum, lemon-lime soda, and grenadine. I also love the lime and lemon slice garnish. I think he’s going to have to make this for me at home sometime.
We were on the Parkview Field video board. The kids always like being famous. It’s cool that our baseball field showcases and interacts with fans in such a fun way!
This is being logged as evidence for all the times that they claim to not like each other. I’m sure at least one will claim that this isn’t real, or that it was just because Mom wanted a picture.
This was one of only a few fireworks pictures that I took. Every year, I come home with pictures and videos of what we saw. I never really just enjoy the moment. I’m too busy watching them enjoy the moment and trying to capture it.
