Project 365: Day 63 – Dental Check-Up

image

I’m always a little apprehensive taking the kids to the dentist. I’m worried that they will have a bad experience.

Lily goes back with the dental hygienist all by herself. I rarely get pictures of her. Of course, she picked a blue toothbrush!

Navy isn’t sure yet. He likes to have Mommy stay with him. Though, he knows where the toys and stickers are when he’s done!

No cavities for either kiddo!!

I had horrible experiences at the dentist when I was younger. It seemed like I always had cavities, partially because I have weak enamel. When the dentist would fill them, he always used nitrous oxide, which didn’t take full effect. He didn’t believe me when I said I could still feel the pain of the drill.

I’m grateful that my kids haven’t had a scary experience, minus Navy’s anxiety of an unfamiliar and sterile environment.

And, I hopefully have another 6 months before I have to worry about this again.

Project 365: Day 59 – Sweet Son

I just love how curious my little guy is about things. So simple and mundane for grown-ups, he finds it fascinating.

This is why Mommy has a bottle of heavy-duty contractor’s solvent in the utility room.

Project 365: Day 57 – 4am Bed Check

I woke up a little after 4am. I went to check on the kids. Navy was not in his bed. He was not snuggled up with Lily in her bed.

Panic. Not that I thought he was hurt or that he went outside. Fear that he was left unattended for who knows how long downstairs.

Lily used to wake up in the middle of the night. I’ve found chocolate syrup on my floor and counters. Snacks left out on the end tables. Menu music playing for whatever DVD she was watching when she fell asleep.

Only, Navy is worse. He has managed to get glue on the carpet. Twice. This week. (Glue that is kept in a craft tote, supposedly out of his reach, and definitely out of sight.)

Then, I found him like this. Precious. Innocent. Calm.

Project 365: Day 47 – Bored Boy

Lily was working her shift at the Girl Scout cookie booth. Navy was bored about 30 minutes in to Lily’s 90 minute shift. He kept making a mad dash for the door, so I mad him sit in the baskets. He did not like this at all.
