Lily, 5

Lily, 5

Lily is motivated.
She wanted to ride a bike without training wheels, she pretty much taught herself (with a little help from Mommy and Papa…very little).
Now, she wants to learn to tie her shoes. She practiced for about a half hour, but I made her call it a night. She was tired, and extremely frustrated. However, she’s almost got it.
I really love Lily’s motivation and her attitude to not let anything stand in her way.
Flip side: It makes her a challenge to parent. She is so determined, in spite of consequences. We have been seeing tons of improvement though, especially as she matures.

Getting ready to show off her mad bike riding skills!

I painted the inside of the cabinet door (yes, really) with chalkboard paint. The idea being that I can write Lily a list of what she needs to do (take a bath, brush her teeth, comb her hair).
Well, she’s been drawing on it, too. Multi-purpose, I guess.

Lily’s blue Nintendo DSi was stolen a couple of weeks ago. It’s been very hard for her to understand how someone could take something that didn’t belong to them.
Henry just happened to have a black Nintendo 3DS that he doesn’t play with anymore. He said that as long as she behaved, she could borrow it.
She spent a couple of hours on the sofa playing with the new Hello Kitty game she bought with her birthday gift card and taking pictures with the camera.
So grateful that she has a man like Henry in her life.
