This morning started off rather chilly. I think it was in 26* or something. Pretty cold. It started to warm up, so the kids got some time to play outside.
Much needed time to play outside.
As much as we’ve been loving the weather, I can’t help but think of our neighbors in the southern party of the state. Homes in ruins. Lives torn apart.
While my heart breaks for them, it makes me look around and realize how grateful and blessed I am.
I bought a set of looms today and a roll of yard. I can’t knit to save my life, but I wanna make hats for the kids. This seemed like a good alternative.
I had to look “how to make a slip knot” up on YouTube. That was a total Girl Scout fail.
I really hope that, with some practice, I will be pretty good at faux-knitting hats that I can get the scarf looms, too.
I haven’t posted a picture of Navy in almost a week, and nothing epic happened today.
Our day, in a nutshell:
Work was uneventful, minus the butthead who likes to stick his nose where it doesn’t belong. This is a recurring theme, but it doesn’t bother me like it used to.
Lily was great at gymnastics, minus a little listening incident at the start of the second rotation.
I got some Keurig things at Target. Managed to control myself and not buy half the store, or the card table and 4-chair set that’s on clearance.
Navy was exhausted by the time we got home. It was a half hour past his bedtime, and he was feeling it.

I don’t think I’ve ever posted a picture of us for my Project 365. Here we are.
We had dinner tonight with the kids. Nothing fancy, just O’Charley’s, one of our favorite places. Kids eat free, so it’s a huge perk for us.
Next week, I’m gonna make a nice dinner for Henry. I’ve never cooked for him. Ever.
Lily is a fearless kid. While playing with friends at the babysitter’s house, Lily accidentally kneed herself in the face.
A trip to Parkview to see if she needed stitches. Doc said to keep a bandage on it until the wound closed and to keep it clean to prevent infection.
