Zero Waste

I have a love/hate relationship with the trash can. I love having a clean home, but I hate the amount of trash we produce each week.

Zero Waste is the idea that you can live without producing any trash.

Recently, Kroger announced that they were going to be phasing out plastic bags for reusable grocery bags. While I take our plastic bags back to the store to be recycled, I could save the effort by just using the reusable bags that I already have.

Starbucks plans to eliminate single-use straws in the next few years. I need to remember to take our reusable coffee and frappuccino cups when we have our weekly Starbucks trip after flute lessons.

While I don’t know if I’m disciplined enough to live a zero waste lifestyle, I know that I can definitely use less single-use products in my life.
