Apple-Gouda Smothered Chicken
with smoky Brussels sprouts
This is our second meal from Home Chef. I was a little skeptical. Apples and cheese. Apples with chicken. Hmm…
Ingredients for this meal:
- Brussels sprouts
- Gala apples
- Boneless skinless chicken breast
- Gouda slices
- Apple cider

I was not too optimistic about how my family was going to like this meal. One child picked off the cheese and apples, only to dip the chicken in soy sauce. The other peeled the apples from the cheese, then ate everything separately, and had barbeque sauce for dipping.
The Brussels sprouts went over surprisingly well. They were bit crisp on the outside from roasting, but soft and warm on the inside. If I repeat this recipe, I will use less paprika and take more care to evenly coat the sprouts with seasoning.
