What I Really Thought of Home Chef

img_9186Maybe I watch too many cooking shows. I see these people cooking up these amazing meals without having the laptop or their phones to get recipes, substitutions, ingredients, side recipes, etc.

I saw an ad for Home Chef and thought we could give this meal service a try. We had Classic French Green Peppercorn Pork Tenderloin and Apple-Gouda Smothered Chicken.

The cost. For the first box, I paid $49.60 for 2 meals for 4 people. That’s $6.20 per person. Since it was my first box, there was a $30 discount. Without the discount, it would be $79.60 for 2 meals, making it $9.95 per person.

The shipment did come with a Home Chef binder to hold all of my recipe cards, as well as an insert with recommended kitchen equipment and trips for prep and cooking.

Will I order from Home Chef again?
Yes, but only when I see a recipe that really piques my interest.

When I read the recipe cards, I was really looking forward to learning to make the creamy sauce for the pork tenderloin.
