Every autumn, I want to do all the things that I see people doing in the fall. I never think to do them until someone else is done them, then there’s no time left for us to do them.
This year, I’ve made a list of the five fall activities that I want to do with my family.
Go to a pumpkin patch. Last year, we walked through a pumpkin patch while we were at the apple orchard, but we didn’t get any pumpkins. This year, I want to go pick out pumpkins.
Carve pumpkins. It seems that the last few Octobers went by way too fast. We either carve our pumpkins a day or so before Halloween, or we don’t carve them at all. This year, we are gonna have some jack-o-lanterns!
Decorate the house. We had some straw bales, a few pots of mums, and the pumpkins we didn’t get to carve. This year, I want a wreath and tons of autumn decor–inside and out!
Have a bonfire. Bonfire might be a little extreme since we live in the city limits, but the sounds and smells of a fire, especially with crisp brown leaves burning is so fall. This year, I want to have a fire, either in the fire pit in the yard or a fire ring on the patio!
Go trick-or-treating. We do this every year, but it is still such a fun part of childhood in the fall. I want to do this with the kids as long as they will dress up and go. This year, I want to walk around rain or shine with them.
What’s on your fall bucket list?
