I finished cleaning the bird bath and watering our plants. Navy was playing with the dripping hose and must have gotten pretty thirsty.

Navy didn’t get out of the way when Lily was riding her bike. She attempted to go around, but still clicked him in the head. He fell face first into the sidewalk.
Damage Report: knot about left eye, minor scrapes above right eye, moderate scrape on right cheek, bloody lip, minor scrapes to left hand.
Lily got her bike taken away and a time out. She had to apologize to Navy for running him over.

Navy recovered by sitting with Papa where it was safe and drinking his milk.
Sometimes, it’s not fun being the little brother.

Lily is motivated.
She wanted to ride a bike without training wheels, she pretty much taught herself (with a little help from Mommy and Papa…very little).
Now, she wants to learn to tie her shoes. She practiced for about a half hour, but I made her call it a night. She was tired, and extremely frustrated. However, she’s almost got it.
I really love Lily’s motivation and her attitude to not let anything stand in her way.
Flip side: It makes her a challenge to parent. She is so determined, in spite of consequences. We have been seeing tons of improvement though, especially as she matures.

In honor of Arbor Day, we went to Main’s Flowers to get some plants for our garden.
We were not able to plant a tree because we have a rather small yard, and I didn’t call to have buried lines marked.
I picked out a couple of tomato plants and a broccoli plant. Lily had asked if she could pick one, too. She picked a strawberry plant.
Hoping we won’t have to worry about frost…in May…and can plant our garden next week.
