This was my view as I was leaving the house this morning. One of the few perks of Daylight Saving Time.

Dinner at Cracker Barrel
Today is Dad’s birthday. Of course, he’s in none of the pictures of his birthday dinner.
This morning, I called Hall’s Commissary, where he always goes for coffee. I told the cashier that today was his birthday. She told the waitresses.
He didn’t care what we had for dinner, so I gave Lily a couple of options. She chose Cracker Barrel because they have a peg game at the table.
Emily, our server, was super sweet and simply fantastic.
Next year, I vow to remember to buy a card.

Lily brought home her school pictures today. Again, I’m very impressed with Inter-State Studios.
Adding the embellishments to her portrait were free (some do cost). I can also order online if I forget to send her envelope in.

Lazy Sunday
A lazy Sunday around our house. I am not a fan of Daylight Saving Time.
Falling back is my time to sleep in. The time to make my Monday morning less rushed. Alas, I’m sitting here at 10pm trying to stay awake and failing miserably.
After yesterday, with planting trees and playing with cousins, I think we needed a lazy, relaxing day.
Great Tree Canopy Comeback
Girl Scout Daisies. Troop 20257.
Our Girl Scout troop was invited by the New Haven Parks & Recreation Dept to plant trees in Moser Park. With shovels in hand, and a little brother in tow, we went to the park.
Let’s just say that I was not prepared for the level of mud. (This is a recurring theme with our two most recent Girl Scout events.)
I think we assisted in planting 3-4 trees.

11th Annual Great Tree Canopy Comeback, a grassroots movement to combat the critical loss of trees inFort Wayne. Our city and region is facing the devastation of the emerald ash borer; about one in four of our city street trees are ash and they will soon be gone.
More than 250 trees were planted across Allen County, and we got to be part of it!
