Project 365: Day 1 – Family

The kids woke up on New Year’s morning like it was any other day. When Henry got up, he was attacked by two small children who thoroughly enjoyed wrestling and being tickled.

A Day At Kindergarten

image

I sent yesterday helping in my daughter’s kindergarten class, as I do a couple of times a month. I always have my phone to take pictures and in case my toddler’s sitter needs to get ahold of me.

As I was watching Lily do the day’s calendar less, I was blissfully unaware of what was unfolding in a kindergarten class in Connecticut.

I had helped prepare a Christmas craft while the kids did their centers work. I had 5 kids count to 100 for me, awarding 2 coveted smiley faces.

I had only begun to find out what was going on by mid-afternoon. I got a call from my Dad letting me know he was picking Lily up from school and wanted to know what she knew. She didn’t know anything, as they don’t watch TV.

I can’t help but think about that being Lily’s class. Lily…

Needless to say, I hugged her and Navy a little tighter, a little longer.

“Green Eggs and Ham” by Dr. Seuss

Lily needed a rhyming book for her Building Bridges With Books bingo sheet, and Dr. Seuss is perfect for that!

Here is Lily’s book report:

I liked the book because Sam wanted the guy to try the green eggs and ham, but he didn’t want to, but at the end he wanted to try them.

My favorite was Sam giving the guy green eggs and ham to try.

I like all the characters.

If you had to pick one place to have green eggs and ham, where would it be?
In a car.

What about in a box with a fox?
No!

What about in a house with a mouse?
No!

Project 365: Day 336 – Sad

Navy is sad because Papa left without him.

Lily got to send the night. He ran to the door pleading with Papa to take him. He cried for at least a half hour.

Next weekend, it will be Navy’s turn to spend the night with Papa.
