Getting to meet little James for the first time!

Lily, my little entomologist, informed me that this is a monarch caterpillar eating milkweed. She studied and raised caterpillars in preschool this past spring.
When she “reads” The Very Hungry Caterpillar, she uses the word chrylalis!
Lily told me that she is going to be a bug scientist, but she also wants to dig up dinosaur bones.
Ambitious kid!

Day two of our new school routine was okay. Lily has been so excited about starting school that she has trouble getting to sleep at night. This leads to a rough morning.
She had a minor tantrums because she wore her new denim capris/crop pants. She was upset they weren’t pants and that they weren’t shorts.
From what she told me, it was a good day. She packed her lunch. The only thing she really ate was her pickle, but she drank most if her milk.
So far, she seems to be off to a good start!

This is Navy’s first Olympics and the first Olympics that Lily is old enough to remember. I have fond memories of the Olympics when I was younger. I want that for my children.

Tonight was the opening ceremonies for the Summer Olympics in London. I let the kids stay up late to watch them because its a special event.
After it was all done, Lily said, “Mommy, that was so cool!”
I really hope she has fond memories of this Olympics.
