I wanted to make Lily’s valentines for her class this year. Something simple that would be more of a keepsake for her classmates. So, we took a picture this morning and did the instant prints at Walmart.

Today was National Wear Red Day, sponsored by the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women.
Heart disease is the leading cause if death for women. It is also a silent killer. Many women don’t even know they’re at risk for heart disease.

I really tried the last couple of years to celebrate lots of holidays with Lily. Some silly and obscure, some more well known.

Today, we celebrated the Chinese new year. It’s the Year of the Dragon.

My children are very blessed to be surrounded by people who love them. Tonight, they got to open presents from Jeanette & Scott. Originally, Jeanette was just supposed to be Navy’s babysitter, but over the last 10 months, she and her family have become very dear to us.
Here is Navy, contemplating this package before him. He eventually told a couple of strips of paper, which promptly went into his mouth.
Lily was beyond excited and the pictures I got of her, she is feverishly ripping the paper off of her packages as fast as her little hands will allow. She’s is professional present opener. Navy has a lot to learn from her.

Our Christmas cards are still sitting on my desk. I’m getting the last of the addresses written on them. Then, I will be mailing them out. Hopefully by Friday. Better late than never!
