Project 365: Day 45 – Warms My Heart

image

I don’t sleep well when I’m cold. U also have to sleep with some kind of white noise, usually a fan.

I’ve slept with a small electric heater in my room for years. This year, my heater died. I borrowed one from my Dad. It didn’t work. I borrowed a second one, and it was okay.

For Valentine’s Day, we went to get a bit to eat (KFC…Yum!), and see about a heater for my room. We found this for $25, normally $50. Score!

Henry really knows how to melt my heart.

Project 365: Day 44 – Game Time

Since Christmas, I’ve been picking up children’s games here and there. Lily received Scrabble Junior for Christmas. I recently purchased Skip Bo, Uno, Yahtzee, and Rummikub, as well as a couple of other kid-themed card games.

The goal is from 8-8:30pm, to play a game with Lily. She lives games and it’s one-on-one time that she so desperately craves.

Tonight, we played two games did Rummikub, both of which she won. We started a game of Scrabble Junior, but Navy required my attention.

This seems like a good strategy for us. She’s getting the attention she needs, and I have a board gaming buddy. Win!

Project 365: Day 43 – Sleeping Like a Baby

Such a long day, and Navy was a real trooper. He didn’t get crabby until we were heading home.

Once home, he proceeded to have an exhausted baby meltdown, which can only be cured by cuddling.

I love when my son falls asleep in my arms.

Project 365: Day 42 – Footprints in the Snow

It snowed sometime after we went to bed. Not a lot. Just enough to cover the ground.

When I went out to get the trash bin from the curb, I left footprints in the fresh powder. It made me think of the poem, “Footprints in the Sand.”
