Project 365: Day 29 – A Dusting of Snow

I took a picture of the snow dusted bushes in the front of my house, after we had had a few flurries.

The picture was taken with the Retro Camera app for Android.

Project 365: Day 28 – Exhausted

Today has been hectic. I can only imagine how Navy felt.

His nap was too short. We attended a birthday party with several kids to play with. Then, home to play for a bit. Grocery shopping.

Now, he’s asleep on the living room floor.

Tomorrow, we will do it all over again. Some birthday shopping and another birthday party. Saving the grocery shopping for Monday while Lily is in school.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Hayden!

Today, we celebrated the third birthday of my friend’s son, Hayden. I cannot believe he is 3 already. I remember her status updates on Facebook about going to the hospital, and the first family picture she posted after he was born. Now, he’s 3.

Happy National Peanut Brittle Day!

image

I bought some peanut brittle to support the Poe Volunteer Fire Dept a couple of months ago, and have been saving it for National Peanut Brittle .

image

National Peanut Brittle Day is actually on January 26, but we weren’t home in time to celebrate. No way I was giving my two small children loads of sugar just before bed.

Making peanut brittle is pretty easy, too. There are six ingredients that you will need: peanuts, sugar, butter, baking soda, vanilla extract, and corn syrup.

All Recipes has a super easy recipe for Microwave Peanut Brittle that only takes about 30 minutes from start to finish.

Enjoy!

Project 365: Day 27 – The Art of Photography

image

I want to get more creative with my pictures. Not always just a snapshot. I have always been interested in photography, but I want to develop that a bit.

With wide and energetic children, often times, I just snap the picture so I have some record of the events. The perfect shot comes moments later, without fail. A picture that I rarely capture.

I don’t want to go all crazy and spend a ton of money in a new camera and photo editing software. I really want to learn go use what I have, a cheap-and-shoot and my camera phone.

Tonight, just a simple spoon. On the counter. A dirty counter at that. I like how part of it is in focus and other parts aren’t. It’s a start on my photographic journey.

Follow the pictorial road. Follow the pictorial road. Follow, follow, follow, follow! Follow the pictorial road.
