Clearing My Head

It’s been a while since I’ve gone for a run.

I needed to get out of the house and clear my head. I started with a simple 2-mile HIIT run with C25k. My body hated me, until it didn’t.

I managed to complete the walk/run. I know I probably pushed my body harder that I should, but I needed to.

I needed this time alone. I need to remember that I need to take time for myself, not just to grieve, but to focus on myself.

Our 2016 Goals

Each year, I make seemingly lofty New Year’s Resolutions with no clear plan I how I want to achieve them. They’re always the same: get in shape and manage our finances better. They also don’t last very long.

Lunch at Fort Wayne’s Famous Coney Island!

Goal #1: Go on adventures and eat!
We live close to a city with a lot to offer, not to mention everything in the surrounding areas! We have plenty to explore. There are tons of locally owned restaurants that we’ve never eaten at. Lots of festivals we haven’t been to. Museums. Shows. Events. There’s so much to see and do!

Goal #2: Get organized!

2015 Review: As the Year Draws to a Close

As 2015 comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on things that have happened in the last year. Some good. Some bad.

January went by in a flash. It usually does.

February brought about the birthday of my sweet, little Navy. He turned the big 4. He had an awesome race car party with a Cars theme.

In March, we celebrated Lily’s birthday pretty low-key. We ate at one of her favorite Japanese restaurants. She loves hibachi shrimp and sushi. Not much longer, and she’ll be double-digits.

Project 365: Day 61 – These Shoes Are Made for Walking or Running

I’ve been complaining that I’m outta shape. It’s not so much a weight thing, but a lack of exercise thing. My belly is still a little too jiggly for my liking. I don’t have the endurance I used to.

I also have a hard time spending money on shoes. Thankfully, I found these at Kohl’s.

I have small feet, which is a huge plus since I hate to spend a lot for athletic shoes. Children’s shoes are much cheaper. I wear a 5Y in Nike.

I was able to score these for $19.20, plus tax. Broke them in a bit yesterday, too. Very happy with them.

Definitely a step in the right direction for my fitness, health, and lifestyle goals!
